Garden Weddings are beautiful and wonderfully unique and there are unique issues that can crop up merely because you are having an outdoor wedding. Take a look at the following garden wedding ideas that will make your wedding day a day to remember. The most important idea is to have a plan in case it rains. Many garden weddings are held in back yards and hopefully you have a big enough one to rent a large tent for the reception. If necessary the wedding can also be held in the tent if it rains. Just be sure to have people on hand that can help move tables and chairs if you must. If there is a church or other building nearby that is suitable in which to hold the ceremony make sure to talk with the owner and have them on board if the venue needs to be changed because of weather. Decorations for garden weddings can be simple or ornate but they will surely have something to do with flowers. Make sure to examine the grounds where the wedding is being held. Make sure there is nothing around you do not want others to notice. This includes a grouping of trash cans. It may include a garden shed that has seen too many years as well. If you do not want them to appear in your wedding pictures think of ways to mask their appearance. Many florists will rent large plants, such as palms. You can group them in a way to hide those garbage cans. Sheds and other buildings can be trimmed with bows, ribbons, festive fabrics and such to hide peeling paint and any other damage that is apparent. It is advisable to have a beautiful backdrop where the ceremony is going to be held just so there is some focus in the area. You can use an existing clump of trees that is already available or use the area where flowers grow up a trellis. Stone walls or a rock garden make great places to situate the ceremony or if you don't have any of those things use an arbor. Rent an arbor or arch from a rental store and decorate it with ribbons, fabric, tulle and most important - flowers. In between the metal structure weave in some grapevines or ivy to make it look more natural. You can rent large potted plants and pots of flowers in your chosen color to beautify the area. Do not forget to observe sun patterns in the space because you do not want your guests or you and your future spouse to be looking into the sun during the ceremony. Situate the space in a wooded area if possible. Make sure if you need electricity you can get it where you want it. Many musicians will need electric especially outside. Sound does not carry very well outdoors and if the music is being produced by an acoustic instrument it will need amplification. Electricity is needed for electric pianos as well and if you have a singer they will need to have a microphone. Even the clergy may appreciate be amplified so he does not have to scream over the birds and outside noises. The DJ or the band for the receptions will certainly need electric and a lot of it. Flowers should be the main decoration at the garden wedding. Fill in spaces in the actual garden with containers of flowers. Prior to the wedding mulch the beds and make sure they look neat and tidy. Include some statues or a gazing ball in the gardens to make people want to gather there and include some benches and lawn chairs so they can feel comfortable before and after the ceremony in small areas of the garden. String the trees with twinkle lights or you can string pastel paper lanterns from tree to tree. Collect wide mouth canning jars and fill three fourths full with colored sand or gravel and place a votive candle inside and light it to illumine pathways. A cute idea is to put a birdbath in a flowerbed near the receiving line and place a sign on it to throw a coin in and a make a wish for the newlyweds. Your garden wedding can be the most romantic and beautiful one ever. Starting in the atmosphere of nature is a great way to start a life together.
